Today’s society is characterised by rapid social and political changes, complex technological developments, explosion of information, and innovative advances in personal access to world-wide communication. In order to adapt to the emerging new demands, we need novel and more broadly based skills, and flexibility to modify education to respond to the changing needs of society. In addition to formal education, learning should be understood as a continuous process. In the long run, this enables a successful matching of personal competencies and the actual expectations of society.
To provide opportunities for all this, careful integration and co- operation between educational establishments and actors in the labour market is needed. FCG aims at being the uniting force in setting up such linkages and partnerships, and to provide tailor-made consulting services in the education sector world- wide.

Resources
Our resources are based on Finnish educational establishments, other public sector organisations, labour market –related institutions and associations, and on the partnerships established with our international associates. The University of Helsinki, one of the major shareholder of the FCG group, constitutes our main domestic source of expertise. A great deal of the collaboration with the University is carried out with the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences. We also have intense co- operation with other Finnish universities.
